Descrizione del lavoro

Company Summary
Our client is a well-established manufacturer of industrial machinery with a large, vertically integrated operation: procurement, fabrication, machining, production planning, logistics, assembly, quality control, panel building, maintenance, and programming all under one roof. The company is growing, has a long history of employee tenure, and strongly favors promoting from within. The culture is collaborative and family-oriented. It is demanding, but it also offers flexibility and work-life balance.

Job Summary
You will support the startup, quality control, troubleshooting, and ongoing development of robotic production lines. You will work closely with the existing robotics specialist, who built the process from the ground up, along with engineering, assembly, and checkout teams. Your job is to add capability and reduce the company’s reliance on one person. Training is individualized rather than a fixed program, with the goal of getting you fully up and running in about a year.

Responsibilities

  • Perform checkout and quality control on robotic equipment during startup and before shipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and controls issues on robotic production lines
  • Work with the robotics specialist, engineering, assembly, and checkout teams to develop and improve robotic processes
  • Complete role-specific testing and documentation
  • Travel about four to five times a year, generally one week per trip

Requirements

  • Industrial electrical experience. This is non-negotiable and will not be taught from scratch
  • Hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems, including three-phase power, 24VDC systems, sensors, relays, wiring, and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics (pneumatics is especially relevant to this equipment)
  • Willingness to travel about four to five times per year, and to obtain a passport, since international travel may occasionally be required

Preferred Requirements

  • Three to five years of relevant experience
  • PLC experience, especially with motion control, inputs, and outputs (industrial maintenance program exposure may be acceptable)
  • Hands-on robotics experience (short certification programs alone are not equivalent)
  • Experience with FANUC robot controls and B&R electronics

Compensation & Benefits

  • $30–$37/hour, depending on experience
  • Typical workweek of about 48 hours, with additional overtime available by arrangement
  • Voluntary Sunday work, paid at double time
  • Travel: hotel, rental car, and flights covered, plus per diem (about $40/day for food) and a $20/day travel bonus
  • On-site cafeteria with subsidized meals, plus fitness and recreation facilities
  • Individualized training and a clear internal promotion path

Location
Kankakee area, Illinois, about an hour south of Chicago. Primarily on-site in the manufacturing facility
