Job summary

Oceaneering is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to join the New Products Development core team, contributing to prototyping and testing software for subsea robotics and automation across multiple business units.

The role involves designing, developing, integrating, and testing software across projects, collaborating with hardware and software teams, and ensuring quality delivery while interacting with customers. Office-based with flexibility to work virtually, in Houston, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software/Electrical Engineering or relevant field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience with integrating multiple software modules.
• Minimum 1 year experience with C++ or Python in academic or professional settings.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with electrical and electronic circuits.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and test software on a variety of assignments across multiple projects.
• Work across the robotics stack to solve challenges in land and sea-based robotics.
• Test algorithms that run on our robots, both internal and client facing.
• Create and execute software test plans to deliver quality software.
• Create prototypes and proofs of concepts for new features.
• Support testing of prototypes and document results.
• Work with system and product teams to ensure quality software delivery.
• Interact with customer representatives to define and manage customer expectations.
