Job summary

Amazon Robotics in the United States is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design and build full-stack software that keeps thousands of robots moving across the fulfillment network. You'll impact real-time monitoring dashboards and maintenance tools that reduce downtime and ensure packages flow to customers.

You will own technical strategy, mentor engineers, and drive architectural decisions across services.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling).
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement distributed systems applications and infrastructure in support of robotic movement.
• Influence the team's strategy and contribute to long-term vision and roadmap.
• Work with stakeholders across solutions architecture and operations teams to iterate on design and implementation.
• Maintain high standards by participating in reviews, designing for fault tolerance and operational excellence, and creating mechanisms for continuous improvement.
• Prototype and test concepts or features, both through simulation and emulators and with live robotic equipment.
• Work directly with customers and partners to test prototypes and incorporate feedback.
• Mentor other engineer team members.
• Utilize software engineering processes and technologies.
