Job summary

Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute is seeking a Research Assistant to join their team, supporting research plans to collect, record, and manipulate data in a dynamic environment. The role requires basic data analysis for reports, library research, field explorations, and preparing findings for publication, with duties including testing software prototypes and interacting with research subjects.

The position is based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 0-1 year of data collection and analysis experience.
• 0-1 year of data entry experience.
• 0-1 year of record management experience.
• 0-1 year of research experience.

Responsibilities

• Follows research plans to collect, record, and manipulate research data, maintaining accurate records.
• May test software prototypes and interact with research subjects.
• Performs basic data analysis to produce reports; documents results and processes.
• Performs library research and field explorations.
• Prepares findings for publication.
• Reviews published literature and runs experiments.
• Supports a research project by collecting data.
• Other duties as assigned.
