Job summary

Diagnostic Network, Inc. in San Francisco, CA seeks a hands-on Lead Prototype and Fabrication Mechanic to maintain and upgrade robotic systems, fabricate custom assemblies, and iterate designs from concept to prototype.

You will work with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing processes, inspect equipment, and help build a capable in-house fabrication shop in a fast-paced robotics environment.

Qualifications

• Some technical expertise in mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fabrication.
• Proficiency with common shop equipment and tools including drills, grinders, presses, saws, etc.
• Excellent communication skills and able to communicate issues clearly.
• Highly motivated and energetic.
• Comfortable adapting and learning new concepts.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• In-house maintenance, repair and upgrades of our current and future robotic systems
• Fabricate and design for custom solutions/assemblies
• Provide input on manufacturing processes
• Inspect new equipment for defects, troubleshoot, and suggest replacing as needed
• Taking ideas to prototype and then iterating upon them
• Report to multi-functional teams to address assembling, manufacturing, field operations, and building concerns
• Build trusted relationships with team members and relevant customers
• Maintaining a safe and clean work area
• Design and build-out of in-house fabrication shop capabilities
