Job summary

Ulysses is seeking a Production Manager to plan builds, tests and customer deliveries of Mako underwater vehicles and Leviathan surface systems. You will coordinate engineering, the machine shop, production technicians and field operations, staying close to the physical work from purchasing through final test.

You will ensure every delivery includes correct configuration, documentation, spares and equipment, while managing BOMs, schedules and supplier commitments on-site in San Francisco.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating production or customer delivery of physical products.
• Understanding how machined parts, electrical assemblies and purchased components become a tested product.
• Experience with bills of materials, revisions, purchase orders, inventory and build schedules.
• Ability to prioritize builds and explain consequences of ordering changes.
• Strong follow-through with suppliers and internal teams.
• Clear communication about dates and risks.
• Comfort working on-site in San Francisco.

Responsibilities

• Turn customer scope into a delivery plan with configuration, quantities, spares, documentation, and testing.
• Maintain the schedule across purchasing, machining, inspection, assembly, and final test.
• Track parts and supplier commitments; address shortages and approve alternatives.
• Keep the build queue clear and ensure drawings, BOMs, and instructions are ready.
• Coordinate design changes and show impact on cost and delivery dates.
• Track build progress, quality issues, and test results; own failed checks.
• Coordinate packing, shipping, field equipment, spares and handovers with operations.
• Provide clear delivery updates to team and customers; flag conflicts early.
• Use shortages and rework data to improve planning and handovers as production grows.
