Palladyne AI in Salt Lake City is seeking a Perception Software Engineer to develop computer vision and AI/ML software for robotic systems. You will build perception algorithms, integrate vision systems, and test software directly on robotic hardware.

You will work hands-on with robots, calibrate cameras, and verify object detection, tracking, and pose estimation while collaborating in an agile team. 2+ years in CV/ML required; strong C++/Python skills expected.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Engineering, CS, ML, robotics or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in computer vision, image processing, and machine learning.
• Experience training and fine-tuning deep learning/foundation models; PyTorch/TensorRT familiarity.
• Strong production-quality C++ and Python coding skills; testing, refactoring, CI.

Responsabilités

• Develop perception, reasoning, and decision-making algorithms for industrial robots and cobots.
• Develop and maintain software for AI/ML robotic applications.
• Set up cameras, calibrate vision systems, test perception on physical robots.
• Define data structures, collect data, and build analysis tools.
• Write tests to validate system performance and compliance.
