Job summary

UnitX in Milpitas, CA is seeking a Robotics intern to join a prototyping work cell, design and fabricate parts, build hardware, and run the robot during training under a senior mechanical engineer.

This hands‑on role offers fast design‑build‑test cycles, ownership of hardware, and a path to longer‑term opportunities while working on-site with a talented team from Stanford, MIT, Google.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
• Proficiency in SolidWorks
• Hands-on mechanical design and 3D printing experience
• Available to work 10–20 hrs/week on-site in Milpitas, CA
• Authorized to work in the US for any employer

Responsibilities

• Design parts for the robot cell in SolidWorks and fabricate them.
• Prepare designs for CNC machining and laser cutting; coordinate quotes with vendors.
• Prototype and assemble mechanical designs.
• Support testing, validation, and analysis of assemblies.
• Set up and maintain robot cell hardware.
• Operate and supervise the robot during training runs.
