Job summary

Raydar is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Fremont, CA to own the mechanical subsystems from concept to production release. You will build prototypes, create detailed 3D models and drawings for volume manufacturing.

You will collaborate with electronics, embedded software and motion control teams to ensure tight integration, manage supplier relationships, and lead validation tests to diagnose issues during ramp-up. This is an on-site, full-time role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience bringing physical products from concept into production.
• At least one product taken to real production release beyond prototyping.
• Track record of qualifying vendors, sampling early production, and supporting ramp-up.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering (Electrical background considered).

Responsibilities

• Lead the complete mechanical design lifecycle for subsystems from requirements to manufacturing release.
• Build prototypes and create detailed 3D models and drawings for volume production.
• Plan designs for manufacturability and assembly, collaborating with external factories.
• Coordinate with electronics, embedded software and motion control to ensure fit between parts.
• Handle supplier relationships and sourcing for hardware components; perform validation tests and root-cause analysis.
