Job summary

Intuitive in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking an experienced FPGA Design Engineer to join the FPGA Core team. You will own FPGA designs from concept to production, collaborating with hardware, software, and mechanical teams to deliver safe and effective robotic systems.

The role emphasizes developing modular FPGA content, validating designs, and evaluating new technologies and tools to maintain a world-class design platform for surgical robotics.

Responsibilities

• Work closely on a daily basis with other FPGA team members to build and maintain a world-class FPGA design platform.
• Deliver high-quality FPGA designs that are critical to the safety and effectiveness of robotics systems.
• Own entire FPGA designs from concept to production.
• Develop modular FPGA content for highly shared applications.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies, tools, and processes in FPGA design.
• Provide input on architectural decisions ranging from FPGA designs to electrical system architecture implementations.
• Develop FPGA specification and test protocol documentation from system-level requirements.
• Collaborate with the FPGA Verification team to ensure adequate simulation coverage.
• Work with cross-functional teams – Hardware, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing – for system integration.
• Design and perform robotic in-system verification and validation procedures to meet specifications.
