Job summary

SR2 is building the intelligence layer for robotics and coordinating robots, humans, and workflows in live factory and warehouse operations. We’ve closed our Seed round and are deploying in production with large enterprise operators.

We’re hiring a Robotics Forward Deployed Engineer to own the software running in customer warehouses and write production code on-site when systems need to be brought up or restored. This is a field role, not a 9-to-5 Job.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of software development in systems/robotics, backend, infrastructure, or field engineering.
• Strong Python or C++, and Docker/Docker Compose.
• Linux server admin and basic networking (DHCP, DNS, VLANs, TLS).
• Experience with REST/WebSockets/MQTT and Git.
• Calm under pressure, direct with customers, and comfortable with incomplete specs.

Responsibilities

• Write, test, and maintain the services that run at customer sites, including deployment and diagnostic tooling.
• Deploy and validate our stack in live warehouses, working with customer ops, IT, and engineering.
• Own production issues end to end, including off-hours incidents.
• Debug across the full stack, from robot faults and sensors to APIs, containers, and networking.

We’re hiring a Robotics Forward Deployed Engineer to own the software running in customer warehouses. You’ll write production code, and you’ll be the engineer on-site when systems need to be brought up or restored.

This is a field role, not a 9-to-5. Expect nights, weekends, and on-call paging, plus extensive travel on short notice.

What you’ll do

• Write, test, and maintain the services that run at customer sites, including deployment and diagnostic tooling
• Deploy and validate our stack in live warehouses, working with customer ops, IT, and engineering
• Own production issues end to end, including off-hours incidents
• Debug across the full stack, from robot faults and sensors to APIs, containers, and networking

What you bring

• 2 to 6 years in systems, robotics software, backend, infrastructure, or field engineering, with real software development experience
• Strong Python or C++, plus Docker and Docker Compose
• Linux and server administration, and networking fundamentals (DHCP, DNS, VLANs, TLS)
• Experience with REST, WebSockets, or MQTT, and Git
• Calm under pressure, direct with customers, and comfortable working without a fully specified solution

Preferred: AMR or warehouse automation experience, GCP, observability tools like Grafana or Prometheus, and WMS, WES, or ERP integration.
