Job summary

iRobot is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for a Fall 2026 term in Bedford, MA. You will work with engineers to plan, test, and document innovation efforts, with hands-on CAD, prototyping, and design-review participation.

You will gain experience with manufacturing methods, 3D printing, and evaluating robotic components while developing cross-functional teamwork and technical communication skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with strong academics.
• Experience with CAD/CREO and manufacturing methods such as machine shop work and 3D printing.
• Able to commute to Bedford, MA and commit to full-time/40 hours per week during Fall internship.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document innovation workstreams under iRobot engineers.
• Test and evaluate robotic components and subsystems.
• Assemble and refurbish prototypes for testing.
• Provide feedback and debug performance-related issues.
• Support CAD design changes and participate in design reviews.
