Key Responsibilities
  • Architect autonomous and semi-autonomous systems: mobile robots, manipulators, drones, and inspection robots.
  • Apply RL, imitation learning, and VLA models to manipulation and navigation, with sim-to-real pipelines.
  • Build high-fidelity simulation environments and digital twins (Isaac Sim, Gazebo, MuJoCo); generate synthetic training data.
  • Lead field pilots at construction sites, factories, and plants, meeting ISO 10218, ISO 13482, and IEC 61508 requirements.
  • Partner with business units, OEMs, NVIDIA, and academia; mentor engineers and contribute reusable ROS 2 modules.
First 12 Months
  • Robotics and embodied AI roadmap for priority L&T businesses.
  • 2–3 proofs of concept, including at least one field pilot.
  • ROS 2-based robotics software stack published to the CoE repository.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's or PhD in Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 8–15 years in robotics, including 4+ years building AI-enabled or autonomous systems.
  • Proven prototype-to-deployment record; industrial, construction, or energy experience preferred.
  • Strong C++ and Python; deep ROS / ROS 2 experience.
  • Expertise in SLAM, motion planning, kinematics, dynamics, and control.
  • Hands-on RL, imitation learning, or VLA models (e.g., RT-2, OpenVLA, π0).
  • Experience with Isaac Sim, Gazebo, MuJoCo, and NVIDIA Jetson; knowledge of functional safety and real-time systems.
Success Measures

Measured by solutions piloted and scaled, productivity and safety gains, system uptime, and reusable CoE assets.
