Job summary

Amazon, a global leader in customer-obsessed technology, seeks an SDE-I to own the full lifecycle of embedded software for safety-critical robotics across a large fleet. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, cloud, and field teams to deliver scalable, maintainable code and AI-powered tooling in a fast-paced environment.

You will contribute to CI/CD, on-call duties, and rigorous safety standards, writing robust C/C++/Rust code while learning and growing within a culture of mentorship

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and communicate effectively with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design, build, and operate innovative products and services that delight our customers, while participating in technical discussions to drive solutions forward.
• Design and develop scalable solutions using cloud-native architectures and microservices in a large distributed computing environment.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation.
• Build and maintain resilient distributed systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective.
• Leverage and contribute to the development of GenAI and AI-powered tools to enhance development productivity while staying current with emerging technologies.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and design patterns.
• Work in an agile environment practicing CI/CD principles while participating in operational responsibilities including on-call duties.
• Demonstrate operational excellence through monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues.
• Design and develop embedded software for safety-critical robotics systems using modern languages (C/C++/Rust, or willingness to learn), with a focus on writing clean, maintainable code that meets safety and reliability standards
• Debug and optimize embedded systems in both lab and field environments, developing creative solutions to complex hardware-software integration challenges

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience in optimization mathematics such as linear programming and nonlinear optimization
• Experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases
• Experience within Robotics, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Optimization, Manipulation, Perception, Motion Planning and Controls, Movement, Autonomous Navigation, Path Planning, or related
