Job summary

Humanoid is seeking a Controls Engineer to join the Control Team in Boston. You will own testing, validation infrastructure, observability and runbooks to turn ad-hoc checks into reproducible evaluation and enable first-time hardware bring-up.

You will work across the control stack from actuators to diagnostic tooling, build reusable interfaces, and ensure hardware deployments are validated end-to-end on real robots before wider adoption.

Qualifications

• Hands-on robotics work on real hardware.
• Strong control theory foundations including PID, observers, state estimation.
• Experience shipping software: C++ in RT control codebase and Python for tests.
• Built test automation, HIL or integration-test infra.
• Ability to reproduce failures and analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Build and own HIL and integration test workflows.
• Define metrics for repeatability and accuracy.
• Expand unit and integration test coverage across control components.
• Develop automated regression checks for controls.
• Define testability requirements for new components.
• Package controllers into reusable interfaces.
• Bring-up and integrate new hardware for Boston components.
• Validate end-to-end on real robots.
