Job summary
Formic Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Controls & Automation Engineer to own the reliability of deployed robotic systems in manufacturing environments.
You will diagnose complex failures, implement improvements, and partner with Product, Deployment, and Engineering teams to ensure uptime and performance across the fleet. You will balance reactive support with proactive engineering, mentor field staff, and travel up to 50% to support local regional activities while maintaining safety and quality
Qualifications
- 5+ years in manufacturing automation or industrial robotics environments.
- Strong PLC, robot, and industrial control systems proficiency.
- Solid understanding of robotic systems, motion systems, and automated equipment.
- Hands-on diagnostic skills for mechanical, electrical, and control failures.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve complex automation failures to minimize downtime.
- Design and implement preventative and predictive reliability strategies.
- Lead system-wide improvements including hardware and software upgrades.
- Analyze production data to identify systemic gaps and opportunities.
