Job summary

Hy-Tek Intralogistics is seeking a Robotics Commissioning Engineer I to lead development and deployment of innovative automation solutions for customer sites. The role coordinates between the solutions team and the innovation lab, guiding projects from concept through field implementation.

The position emphasizes collaboration with account managers and the innovation execution team, data-driven solution development, and hands-on commissioning and testing at customer facilities.

Qualifications

• Associates and/or bachelor’s degree or related experience in Automation.
• Developed verbal/interpersonal skills required to maintain favorable customer relations.
• Excellent problem solving, judgment making, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies and a desire to continue learning about them.
• Experience with distribution centers and/or automation integration preferred.
• Understanding of electrical or mechanical systems and programming basics.

Responsibilities

• Present a professional image to customers and vendors.
• Coordinate needs through the innovation lab and/or in the field with account managers, solutions, and Innovation Execution teams.
• Organize and promote solutions through the innovation lab or in the field.
• Identify data requirements and communicate with sales/solution teams to obtain data.
• Perform in-depth data analysis to develop innovative solutions.
• Coordinate testing and solution development in the innovation lab.
• Coordinate commissioning and testing during deployment at customer facilities.
• Establish design criteria and validate with customer solution.
• Generate AutoCAD layouts of proposed concepts and budgetary costs with Integrated Systems.
• Support the account manager in presenting the innovation lab to customers.
• Generate and update weekly status reports.

Job Title: Robotics Commissioning Engineer I

Department: Project Deployment

Supervisor: Manager of Product Commissioning

Job Purpose:

This role has innovative responsibility for the development and implementation of innovative solutions. This role will coordinate between the solutions team and the innovation lab. Consistently focuses on working with the innovation execution and solutions team to assess, develop and promote solutions that will guide the customer towards their individualized plan for success between work in the innovation lab and/or in the field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Present a professional image to customers and vendors
• Work closely with the account manager, solutions, and Innovation Execution team to coordinate needs through the innovation lab and or in the field
• Organize and promote solutions through the innovation lab or in the field
• Identify data requirements and communicate with the sales and solution team to obtain the desired data
• Perform an in-depth data analysis of the information provided to develop an innovative solution
• Coordinate testing and solutions development in the innovation lab
• Coordinate commissioning and testing during innovation solutions deployment at customer facilities
• Establish the design criteria and validate with the customer solution
• Partner with Integrated Systems to generate AutoCAD layouts of the proposed concept and budgetary capital costs
• Help develop customer presentation of the analysis process, proposed concept, layout, budget and project justification
• Support the account manager in the presentation of the innovation lab
• Generate and update weekly status report

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Associates and/or bachelor's degree or related experience in Automation
• Developed verbal/interpersonal skills required to maintain favorable customer relations
• Excellent problem solving, judgment making, and organizational skills
• Knowledge of emerging technologies as well as a strong desire to continue learning about emerging technologies
• Experience working in a distribution center and/or automation integration is preferred
• Ability to learn vendor software and attend vendor training
• Understanding of Electrical or Mechanical systems
• Understanding of Programming basics

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Travel up to 60% or as needed.
• Some weekend/night work required as needed.
• Working in office, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities.
• Working in a stationary position for an extended period.
• Moving or traversing for an extended period.
• Occasional ascending and descending scaffolding and/or mezzanines.
• Operating computers for an extended period.
• Possible exposure to noise levels exceeding recommended DBA levels.
• Occasional movement and positioning of objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
