Job Description

Position: Robotics Club Advisor

Starting: 2026‑27 School Year

The individual accepting this position will serve as the Robotics Club Advisor for North Marion High School. This advisor will possess high ethical and moral standards and work under the guidelines and policies set forth by the North Marion School District.

The candidate should be an excellent role model for students, establish rapport with club members, teach the fundamentals of robotics including building, programming, and operating robots, and be supportive of relationships between students and all North Marion School District staff. The chosen applicant will oversee all aspects of the Robotics Club program, including preparation for and participation in competitive tournaments, typically occurring on weekends and/or evenings. This position is evaluated and renewed annually. For further information please contact the building Principal.

Special Requirements
  • Prior to start of employment, must have completed all NMSD SafeSchools staff training. (Upon completion, certificates to be filed with the HR office.)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with administration, teaching staff, community members, parents, and students.
  • Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Will coach individual participants and teams in the skills necessary for building, programming, and operating competitive robots.
  • Ability to coordinate and supervise multiple student teams (typically four students per team).
  • Willingness to attend and supervise students at off‑site tournaments throughout the school year.
  • Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or District patrons.
  • The ability to work harmoniously with others, including collaboration with advisors at other grade levels.
  • Successful completion of background check.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred (bilingual is defined as fluency in reading, writing and speaking two languages).
  • Previous robotics experience or STEM background preferred. This position may also be filled internally by either a licensed or classified staff member.
