Job summary

Newrest seeks a Maintenance Technician-Robotic Automation to support a high-volume airline catering facility. The role maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs automated and electromechanical equipment, including robotic packing lines, conveyor systems, and warewashing systems.

The technician will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose PLC/VFD/sensor faults, read electrical schematics, and coordinate with plumbers, HVAC, and electricians to keep production running.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining automated production equipment.
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in both mechanical and electrical domains.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on robotic packing lines, automated conveyor systems, and warewashing systems.
• Diagnose and resolve PLC faults, VFD issues, sensor failures, and control system anomalies.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to isolate and resolve faults; maintain as-built drawings.
• Troubleshoot motor controls, variable frequency drives, and industrial sensors (proximity, photoelectric, limit switches).
• Coordinate third-party repair for specialized electronics as needed.
• Lead collaboration with plumbers, HVAC, and electrical trades on building maintenance issues.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, parts inventory, and work orders in the CMMS.
• Respond to after-hours or on-call situations for critical system failures.
• Support commissioning, equipment upgrades, and vendor service visits for automated equipment.
• Comply with HACCP/GMP and health and safety regulations.
