Job Description

MGS has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Automation Engineer to join our MGS Richfield team.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a good role model to employees for safe work practices and behavior by conducting yourself professionally, keeping in mind your own safety and the safety of others.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Follow proper gowning procedures to maintain Clean Room cleanliness.
  • Install robots, programs EOA's, and set up of automation systems for new tools or processes.
  • Collaborate with OEM's and customers in implementation of Automation Cells, including performing and documenting test cases, FATs, SATs, and engineering studies.
  • Support press robot issues by troubleshooting, solving, and making needed improvements.
  • Perform robot preventative maintenance tasks and repairs to maintain press robots.
  • Help maintain proper spare parts inventory to support all Automation and robotic Cells.
  • Quote and order parts needed to make needed repairs to Automation and robots.
  • Support Automation cell production by troubleshooting, solving technical issues, making repairs, improvements and documenting this work on the Cell Technical Activity Logs.
  • Perform training with personnel and participate in developing work instructions.
  • Support the team and assist in training other Automation technicians.
  • Document daily work using the work order system.
  • Communicate Automation cell and Press robot repairs and adjustments to the Automation team.
  • Always look for ways to improve and promote Quality.
  • Identify unsafe equipment and ensure that equipment operates safely prior to line start up.
  • Learn and master all necessary areas of the quality system.
  • Set up robots, EOAT, conveyors, de-gators, secondary equipment, etc.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Completion of an accredited two‑year technical college program, or a four‑year university program, in a related field of study is preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in related field is preferred.
  • Fork truck and Lock out Tag out Certification is preferred.
  • Familiar working with conventional manufacturing equipment such as milling machines, lathes, saws, hand tools, etc.
  • Toolmaker/Machine Builder experience is a plus.
