Job summary

Amazon Robotics is hiring an Applied Science Manager to lead a team of scientists and engineers in building next-generation manipulation systems for fulfillment centers. You will shape science strategy, drive product features, and mentor a diverse group of researchers in perception, grasp learning, and foundation models.

The role requires a PhD or Master’s with deep research background, 6+ years of applied research, and prior ML management experience.

Qualifications

• PhD in engineering, technology, CS, ML, robotics, or statistics or equivalent
• 6+ years of applied research experience
• 3+ years of scientists or ML engineers management experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Knowledge of the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
• Experience building ML models or developing algorithms for business applications
• Experience hiring and growing top talent
• Strong understanding of robotics, computer vision and ML
