Qualifications

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Robotics Application Engineer - Semiconductor Automation

Location: San Jose, CA

Compensation: $100,000.00-$130,000.00

Hours: 8:00-17:00

Employment Type: Full-time, Onsite

A global industrial robotics and automation company provides robotic systems for a broad range of applications worldwide. The company is seeking an engineer to join its Semiconductor Robot Engineering team supporting robotic products for semiconductor applications.

Position Summary

The Robotics Application Engineer develops, tests, and maintains robotic products for the semiconductor industry. This role leads prototype design activities, coordinates across mechanical, electrical, software, and prototype teams, and provides technical support at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to customer requests regarding semiconductor robotic applications.
  • Lead prototype design projects and coordinate activities across mechanical, electrical, software, and prototype engineering teams to meet project timelines.
  • Create 2D/3D CAD drawings, models, and engineering documentation based on customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot robotic systems and provide technical guidance on application and system issues.
  • Provide onsite technical and field support at customer locations.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • 1-3 years of engineering experience in the automation or semiconductor industry.
  • Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software.
  • Knowledge of automation systems, including operating principles, key components, and major failure modes.
  • Understanding of basic programming logic.
  • Ability to quickly understand and implement new engineering concepts.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Preferred
  • 3-5 years of engineering experience in the automation or semiconductor industry.
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Experience with NX.
Other Details
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, walk, and stand while handling objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to use common mechanical tools, including screwdrivers, hex keys, and torque wrenches.
  • Role includes hands-on prototype development, troubleshooting, and customer-site support.

This role may include additional responsibilities as needed based on business needs.
