Job summary

Global Power Components is hiring a Robotic Technician to operate and support robotic welding systems in our Milwaukee production environment. You will work with cobots, manage setups, adjust parameters, and ensure quality welding through daily production cycles in a fast-paced facility.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, fixture validation, and collaboration with welding engineers and production teams to improve cell performance and throughput while maintaining a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate cobots and robotic welding cells to support daily production.
• Perform setup, changeovers, and basic parameter adjustments for welding programs.
• Load, unload, and position components in welding fixtures.
• Monitor welding operations to ensure quality and production standards.
• Troubleshoot weld quality issues including welds, wire feed, torch, sensors and alarms.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on welding equipment and tooling.
• Assist with fixture setup, validation, and optimization activities.
• Collaborate with weld engineering and production teams to improve cell performance.
• Conduct weld inspections and verify components meet drawings and quality requirements.
• Document production issues and communicate corrective actions to engineering and management.
• Train production employees on safe operation of robotic welding equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment around robotic cells.
• Support installation, startup, and commissioning of new robotic welding systems.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Follow safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
