Job summary

Machina Labs is seeking a Robotic Process Engineer to enable RoboForming—our robotic sheet metal forming platform—through CAD manipulation, tool path generation for RoboCraftsman, and data‑driven process optimization. This hands‑on role blends software, robotics, and manufacturing in a fast‑paced environment.

You will collaborate across engineering teams, design structured experiments, analyze forming data and 3D scans, and continually refine forming strategies to meet automotive manufacturing

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
• 0-2 years in a manufacturing, robotics, or prototyping environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Catia, NX, Fusion 360, Rhino).
• Familiarity with CAM, tool path generation, or robot programming.
• Strong data analysis skills (MATLAB, Python, advanced Excel).
• Comfort with open-ended problem spaces and rapid decisions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes.
• Hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Generate and modify CAD models for structural frame components and exterior body panels to ensure compatibility for RoboForming.
• Convert CAD into robot tool paths for RoboCraftsman execution.
• Analyze RoboForming data and 3D scan results to assess part quality and identify improvements.
• Design and execute structured experiments (DOE) to optimize forming parameters and tool paths.
• Collaborate with product managers, hardware development teams, software engineers, and manufacturing engineers to improve tools, workflows and tool path strategies.
• Contribute to technical discussions with external customers to support project goals and alignment.
• Work autonomously and make informed decisions with limited data, then refine based on outcomes.
• Document process, results, and analyses for internal continuous improvement.
