Description

Position Overview:

Diaconia is seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Developer to support our Federal Client's digital transformation initiatives as part of our Intelligent Automation Services (IAS) team.

As a member of the IAS team, the RPA Developer will play a critical role in modernizing the client's automation environment, including supporting the strategic transition of existing robotic process automation solutions from UiPath to Microsoft Power Automate and the Microsoft Power Platform.

This position will be responsible for evaluating existing UiPath automations, identifying migration requirements, redesigning workflows, and developing secure, scalable, and maintainable Power Automate solutions. The selected candidate will also develop new automation capabilities that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual workloads, strengthen process consistency, and support the Federal Client's mission objectives.

The ideal candidate is technically proficient, innovative, and highly collaborative, with a strong foundation in software development, hands-on experience with UiPath and Microsoft Power Automate, and familiarity with federal security, compliance, governance, and software development best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain robotic process automation solutions that streamline Federal Client business and mission-support processes.
  • Support the transition and migration of existing UiPath automations to Microsoft Power Automate and the broader Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Assess current-state UiPath bots, workflows, dependencies, credentials, integrations, exception handling, and operational requirements to determine appropriate migration strategies.
  • Reengineer and optimize existing automations rather than performing direct one-to-one conversions when process or platform improvements are identified.
  • Develop cloud flows, desktop flows, attended and unattended automations, and other Power Platform solutions in accordance with approved technical standards.
  • Develop, update, and maintain UiPath automations during the transition period, as required, to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Process Owners, Federal Client stakeholders, and technical teams to evaluate automation opportunities, assess feasibility, and define functional and technical requirements.
  • Identify process gaps, technical risks, migration constraints, and opportunities for process standardization and continuous improvement.
  • Integrate automation solutions with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Excel, databases, APIs, enterprise applications, and other approved client systems.
  • Configure and support Power Platform environments, connections, gateways, service accounts, credentials, and solution packages in coordination with system administrators.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including Solution Design Documents (SDDs), Process Definition Documents (PDDs), deployment guides, test plans, operational support procedures, and user documentation.
  • Develop and execute unit, integration, regression, user acceptance, and performance testing for new and migrated automation solutions.
  • Troubleshoot automation failures, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve bot stability, reliability, and performance.
  • Monitor deployed automations and provide ongoing maintenance, enhancements, production support, and performance optimization.
  • Ensure automation solutions comply with Federal Client information technology governance, cybersecurity, accessibility, and data protection requirements.
  • Follow established configuration management, source control, release management, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Participate in peer code reviews, technical design reviews, Agile ceremonies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to deliver secure, resilient, and supportable automation solutions.
  • Develop reusable automation components, templates, standards, and best practices to improve consistency across the RPA development lifecycle.
  • Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer, and end-user support related to automation solutions.
