Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC is seeking a Robotic Field Engineer/Construction Surveyor to establish and manage the site control network, build and share Building Model data with the project team, and verify buildability by incorporating subcontractor submittals. The role requires proficiency with robotic survey equipment, CAD/BIM tools, and field layout across external conditions.

Qualifications

• 3 years of Robotic Field Engineer or Survey Crew Chief experience preferred.
• Familiar with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Recap.
• Ability to collaborate with the project team and read BIM workflows.
• Work at height; lift up to 70 lbs; perform outdoors in all weather.
• Read blueprints and shop drawings; understand safety and procedures.
• Experience with data collectors, robotic total stations, and Carlson software.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Brasfield & Gorrie is currently accepting applications for Robotic Field Engineer / Construction Surveyor. Below are the main responsibilities for this position.

(This description may not include all duties required of this position)

• Establish jobsite Control Network for use by all trades and technologies including but not limited to scanners, drones, and 360 degree photographic imaging devices
• Assume ownership of Building Model as it pertains to field and share information with Project Team
• Evaluate and incorporate Subcontractor submittals including shop drawings into the Building Model as needed to verify buildability and identify potential conflicts
• Supervise and educate Rodpersons and other crew members
• May oversee some subcontractor work activities, as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Must adhere to safety protocol, and work in a drug-free environment
• Must prove proficient in Robotic Engineering/Survey equipment
• Must prove proficient in horizontal and vertical layout of systems including but not limited to concrete structure, building corners and benchmarks, establishing and maintaining building control throughout all phases of construction to support scopes of work for organic employees as well as subcontractors
• Must be proficient in uploading CAD files into engineering systems, calibration, and back shooting to known surveyed locations in order to establish project control

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

• 3 years of experience as a Robotic Field Engineer or Survey Crew Chief is preferred
• Knowledge of, or ability and willingness to learn, many different software programs to include but not limited to Autodesk Autocad, Revit, Navisworks, and Recap
• Ability and willingness to collaborate with the entire Project Team
• General knowledge of BIM and its processes
• Must be able to work at elevated heights, frequently lift materials weighing up to 70 lbs and work in outside all weather conditions
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, shop drawings, procedure manuals, and safety rules
• Experience with data collectors, electronic or robotic total stations, digital levels, tripod, prism, Carlson explorer, Carlson software, computers
• Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
• Higher math skills (algebra and trigonometry)
