Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a remote Surgical Robotics Utilization professional to support the HUGO RAS-system across hospitals in the United States. The role requires residing within the territory and driving to multiple accounts with >75% travel, including Indianapolis, IN. A valid driver’s license is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with the robotic program stakeholders and develop program goals and metrics for HUGO™ RAS-system.
  • Conduct regular program review meetings to remain on-track.
  • Develop a surgeon training plan, coordinate attendance at Medtronic’s off-site training and arrange for proctored cases post-training as needed.
  • Develop a training plan to support staff to include attendance at a Medtronic off-site training class and support staff through their learning curve.
  • Support the technology adoption by attending to cases during a surgeon and staff member’s learning sessions.
  • Utilize change management techniques to engage clinical stakeholders and attain buy-in.
  • Coach hospitals’ staff to promote skill transfer and achieve self-sufficiency in operational excellence.
  • Cooperate with Medtronic field service engineer (FSE) and the hospital staff to prepare the operating room to host the HUGO™ RAS-system.
  • Track milestones to demonstrate the value delivered for the pilot site

A Day in the LifeWe are seeking a committed professional to join our team. While this is a remote position not located at a physical Medtronic site, the candidate hired will be required to reside within the territory and drive to multiple accounts throughout the region. A valid driver's license is essential for this role.

The Surgical Robotics Utilization Team manages all aspects of system installation, start-up, customer training, account analysis, drive and optimize the robotic program.

Placement of a HUGO surgical robot in the hospital requires full-time support for an account specific period to ensure successful integration into the hospital’s service lines.

The utilization team members are seasoned professionals with in-depth knowledge of the healthcare value chain as well as a broad experience across multiple disciplines.

They partner with all relevant hospital stakeholders to drive complex transformational changes, implement innovative growth strategies, streamline patient-focused care pathways and optimize operations.

Key Activities

This is a fully remote role. It will be required to travel thought the country >75%.

Must Haves
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of clinical, sales or related experience OR Advanced Degree with 0 years of related experience
  • Ability to relocate to a major implementation site is required
  • Willingness to travel throughout your country (>75%).
Nice to Haves
  • 12-18+ months clinical selling experience in an operating room environment
  • Knowledge and experience of operating rooms and surgery procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate from idea generation and strategy development through detailed implementation and results in delivery.
  • Understanding the impact of quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong and demonstrable project management skills.
  • Ability to integrate a customer team and coach it to continuously improve its performance.
  • Experience in change management with the ability to standardize process optimization and change management activities into a reproducible package that could be deployed in different places by different people.
  • Strong analytical, excellent interpersonal and research skills.
  • Familiarity with hospital workflows and the ability to navigate complex healthcare environments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
