Job summary

Nahan is seeking a Robot Tech to set up and operate robot-assisted press lines, configure pallet setups, and maintain delivery equipment within a lean manufacturing environment in Minnesota.

You will perform TPM tasks, troubleshoot mechanical issues, follow safety policies, and work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and OT as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Post Secondary Education with Robotics preferred.
• Previous related experience preferred.
• On-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

A Robot Tech will set up and operate all auxiliary equipment, set up pallet configurations for the robot, perform maintenance of all delivery equipment, assist in manual and machine tasks in make ready, maintenance, and operation of press.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Read and understand job tickets.
• Complete OJT training with robotics and continue to follow procedures.
• Set up and operate all auxiliary equipment with the focus being robotics and all post press delivery systems.
• Troubleshoot computer and mechanical issues with reacting quickly in a very fast-paced environment.
• Assist with folder and help with make ready and startup.
• Monitor trims and perfs throughout run when used.
• Inform supervisor/Pressman I of problems with equipment or materials.
• Perform quality control of signatures off press (checking for hickeys, toning, crossovers, proper lap positions, etc.).
• Communicate with next shift about status of job(s) and any special instructions.
• Responsible for handling hazardous waste in a safe manner by following safety procedures.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks to maintain optimal equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with Nahan Lean manufacturing principles.
• Follow all Nahan safety & quality policy and procedures.
• Work assigned shifts, including weekends and overtime, as required.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Skills And Abilities Required

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic machine malfunctions.
• Attention to detail and ability to identify quality defects.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical specifications.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and production tracking.
• Ability to work independently and part of a team. Taking direction from team.
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal and listening).
• Excellent time management skills and organizational skills.
• Proficiency/fluent with English language, both written and verbal.

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will regularly lift 70lbs or more at a time. All vision abilities are required to encompass close-up work. Employees must be able to tolerate and endure extended seasonal hours and maintain alertness to meet deadlines.

Occasionally while performing duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to machinery and moving parts, airborne particles including paper dust and hazardous materials or fumes, which may require the use of PPE. The employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions, extended seasonal hours, high precarious places, and confined spaces. The nose level in some of the work environments may require the use of hearing protection.
