Job summary

Whisker is seeking a Robotic Assembly Technician in Juneau, Wisconsin to diagnose faults and repair rejected bases, ensuring units meet quality standards before re-entering production.

You will rotate across production lines, perform wiring on PCBs, document findings, and collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams in a fast-paced, pet-friendly environment.

Qualifications

  • High school or technical degree required.
  • Excellent attendance and reliability essential.
  • 6+ months with Whisker or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Able to lift up to 45 lbs and operate in a manufacturing setting.
  • Able to follow directions and use tools safely.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults in bases, liners, DFIs, and cards.
  • Repair or replace components to meet quality standards.
  • Perform wiring and connector repairs on PCBs.
  • Document repairs and findings in Whisker Ops system.
  • Rotate between lines and product types as needed.
  • Support material handling and inventory in Assembly Tech area.

This role will be onsite 5 days a week out of our Juneau, Wisconsin office. Our team of 700+ passionate pet people thrives on collaboration, innovation, and the occasional office cameo from a four-legged friend.


Summary:

The Robotic Assembly Technician plays a key role in maintaining production quality by troubleshooting and repairing rejected bases from the line. Duties include diagnosing faults in components (e.g., liners, DFIs, and cards), performing component-level repairs or replacements, and ensuring all units meet quality standards before re-entering production. After completing daily repair targets, the technician supports related operations such as the production lines.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receives and evaluates parts that do not meet production quality standards

  • Troubleshoots rejected bases (e.g., cards, liners, DFIs) to identify root causes and implement effective solutions

  • Repairs and reworks components to ensure all products meet or exceed quality and performance standards

  • Performs wiring and connector repairs on printed circuit boards (PCBs)

  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots unit issues, including assessment of components and wiring

  • Accurately documents all repairs and findings in Whisker Ops

  • Collaborates with production, quality, and engineering teams to communicate issues and drive corrective actions

  • Demonstrates flexibility by adapting to changing production priorities and workflows

  • Rotates between multiple production lines (I.e. assembly work) and product types as needed

  • Supports assembly line operations where and when required

  • Manages material handling tasks, including breaking down Gaylords and moving products as necessary

  • Maintains proper inventory levels of supplies in the Assembly Tech area

  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • High school education or a two-year technical degree or equivalent work experience is required

  • An EXCELLENT attendance record is required because the department is small and impactful

  • Must have 6 or more months of continuous employment with Whisker

  • Must not have received a written warning or above in the last 6 months.

  • Working experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred

  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs

  • Able to follow directions, use hand and power tools

  • Mechanical aptitude and good dexterity are helpful in this role

  • Must have a positive attitude

  • Must be an efficient worker who is organized and detail-oriented

  • Able to work in a fast-paced assembly environment

  • Must be eager to learn different areas of the company

  • A good attendance record is required

  • A willingness to serve others to achieve team success

  • An ability to provide coaching, direction, and feedback in a constructive manner

  • A willingness to hold oneself and others accountable to standards and expectations

  • Working experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred

  • Working experience as a Team Lead
