Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Robot Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing line in New York. You will perform mechanical and electrical assembly, run tests, and support backend operations on a multi-person line.

You will assemble subassemblies and final robots per drawings, install modules, build harnesses, crimp and solder connectors, and help with troubleshooting and quality control while following safety and 5S standards. Strong attention to detail is required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of mechanical and electrical integration or assembly experience.
  • Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, torque tools, fixtures, and measurement equipment.
  • Experience assembling, routing, terminating, or troubleshooting electrical wiring, harnesses, connectors, or electronic components.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble subassemblies and final robots per drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Perform mechanical assembly tasks such as fastening, joining, alignment, using fixtures or jigs.
  • Install modules including drive, actuation, battery pack, sensors, compute, and communications components.
  • Build and route harnesses, crimp, solder, and terminate connectors per standards.
  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and end-of-line tests; record results and maintain unit histories.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and rework; escalate issues as needed.
  • Receive parts, conduct incoming inspection, kitting, sorting, labeling, and staging for builds.
  • Log findings, propose changes, and support continuous improvement.
  • Follow safety, ESd and 5S practices; participate in daily stand-ups and coordination with line lead.

Job description

We are looking for a Robot Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team and contribute to assembling Fauna robots on the production line. This role involves executing mechanical and electrical assembly, running tests, and performing backend manufacturing operations. This is a contributor role within a multi-person line and is not expected to be the sole assembler.

Key job responsibilities
Production Assembly
  • Assemble subassemblies and final robots per assembly drawings, work instructions, and other relevant specifications.
  • Perform mechanical assembly tasks such as fastening, joining, alignment, and the use of fixtures or jigs as required.
  • Install modules including drive, actuation, battery pack, sensors, compute, and communications components.
Electrical Assembly
  • Build and route harnesses. Crimp, solder, and terminate connectors per company standards.
  • Perform electrical assembly tasks such as preparing, installing, and verifying system components and connections.
  • Commission and configure devices as needed.
Test & Quality
  • Execute incoming, in-process, and end-of-line tests using checklists and automated scripts.
  • Record results in the build traveler or other relevant systems. Maintain complete unit histories and serial tracking.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and rework within training. Escalate issues to line lead or engineering.
Backend Operations
  • Receive parts. Perform incoming inspection, kitting, sorting, labeling, and staging for builds.
  • Conduct physical counts and maintain inventory accuracy for assigned bins and kits.
  • Support pack-out and handoff of completed units.
Process Feedback & Continuous Improvement
  • Provide feedback on work instructions, tooling, fixtures, test procedures, and part design to improve speed, efficiency, and quality.
  • Log findings and propose changes with clear steps to reproduce issues where applicable.
Compliance & Collaboration
  • Follow all company safety, ESD, and 5S practices. Maintain a clean and organized station.
  • Participate in daily stand‑ups and coordination with the line lead and engineering.
Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years of mechanical and electrical integration or assembly experience
  • Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, torque tools, fixtures, and measurement equipment
  • Experience assembling, routing, terminating, or troubleshooting electrical wiring, harnesses, connectors, or electronic components
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing and delivering product quality or testing
  • Experience assembling or testing robotics, automation equipment, consumer electronics, vehicles, aerospace hardware, or other complex electromechanical systems
  • Experience with crimping, soldering, connector termination, cable routing, and harness fabrication
  • Experience working in a controlled production environment using ESD, 5S, traceability, and configuration-control practices

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
