Job summary

GBA in Austin, TX is seeking a Civil Engineer, E.I.T. to join our Transportation Department. The role involves roadway design, multi-modal facilities, and coordination with Kansas, Missouri, and Texas offices.

You will work on geometric design, hydrology, quantity estimates, and construction sequencing. Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering, 0–2 years of experience, and EIT or ability to obtain within 6 months, with proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
• 0-2 years of experience
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Experience using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, RSAP, HSM, AutoTurn, HY-8, HEC-RAS, Revu or Adobe is a plus

Responsibilities

• Geometric design and 3-D modeling, including intersection and interchange design
• Evaluate and design multi-modal facilities (auto, pedestrian, bicycle, transit, freight) from planning to bid documents
• Roadside safety evaluation and design
• Basic hydrology and hydraulic design, including cross-road structures and enclosed storm sewers
• Develop construction sequencing and traffic control/erosion plans
• Prepare quantity estimates, cost estimation, standard spec reviews, and QC/QA
• Perform field visits
• Coordinate utility work
• Other duties as assigned
