Job summary

Clear Concepts, Inc. is seeking a Roadway/Utility Superintendent for Raleigh area road and underground utility projects. You will lead day and night crews, coordinate subs, manage safety and traffic control, and ensure schedule adherence on NCDOT initiatives across NC.

Relocation to the Triangle area is welcomed for the right candidate. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in heavy civil roadway or underground utility roles, DOT project experience, and the ability to read plans and specs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in heavy civil roadway/underground utility
• DOT roadway or utility project experience; night work a plus
• Able to read plans and specs; keep accurate quantities
• Ready to work day or night shifts as needed
• NCDOT project experience is a plus; OSHA 30 is a plus
• Based in the Triangle or willing to relocate to Raleigh

Responsibilities

• Run day and night shift field operations on roadway and utility projects
• Lead roadway, grading and underground utility crews and foremen
• Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, equipment and material deliveries
• Plan the work and maintain the project schedule shift to shift
• Own jobsite safety, toolbox talks and OSHA compliance on every shift
• Set up traffic control and lane closures inside approved work windows
• Work with NCDOT inspectors and project engineers
• Track installed quantities and daily production
• Complete daily reports, crew time and field documentation
• Coordinate handoffs with the project manager and the other shift

Location: Raleigh, NC (Triangle area)

Industry: Heavy Civil / Highway / Utility / Infrastructure Construction

An established self perform heavy civil contractor with work across North Carolina and Virginia is hiring a Roadway / Utility Superintendent for day and night work in the Raleigh area. This is a strong opportunity for a Roadway Superintendent, Utility Superintendent or seasoned General Foreman with DOT roadway and utility experience who wants a stable employer with a long runway of work. You'll run day and night shift roadway and underground utility crews on highway, roadway and utility projects, much of it NCDOT work. Triangle locals are great, and candidates ready to relocate are welcome.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Run day and night shift field operations on roadway and utility projects
• Lead roadway, grading and underground utility crews and their foremen

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of heavy civil roadway and/or underground utility experience at the superintendent or senior foreman level
• DOT roadway or utility project experience, night work a plus
• Working knowledge of grading, storm drainage, water and sewer installation, and paving sequencing
• Solid understanding of work zone traffic control
• Able to read plans and specs and keep accurate quantities
• Ready to work day or night shifts as the job needs
• Valid driver's license
• NCDOT project experience is a plus
• OSHA 30 is a plus
• HCSS HeavyJob or similar field tracking experience is a plus
• Based in the Triangle or ready to relocate to the Raleigh area
