Job summary

RailPros is seeking a Roadway Worker in Charge (RWIC) to provide on-site roadway worker protection around live railroad tracks and coordinate job sites, dispatcher communications, and on-track safety. The role involves frequent travel across multiple states and strict adherence to safety protocols.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and extensive supervisory track experience, with proficiency in radio procedures, job briefings, and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 20 years of experience in supervisory track inspection, ATS, Foreman, or RWIC in Class I/II railroads.

Responsibilities

• Provide required jobsite protection on each assignment per railroad rules.
• Perform daily job briefings and ensure safety requirements are followed.
• Prepare and submit electronic forms (job set up, daily reports, invoices).
• Handle signs, derail and tools weighing 15–90 pounds as needed.
• Participate in safety classes and qualifications training.
• Maintain communication with RWIC supervisors and managers about assignments/schedules.
• Uphold integrity, accountability, and respect in all duties.
• Adhere to company policies and laws; perform other duties as needed.
