The role requires reading plans, following supervisor instructions, and performing light maintenance. Flexibility for overtime, weekends, and night shifts is often needed on site.

Qualifications

• Experience operating paving rollers or heavy construction equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of asphalt paving and compaction techniques.
• Ability to read and follow construction plans and project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt rollers and compaction equipment safely and efficiently.
• Compact asphalt to achieve required density and surface smoothness.
• Follow grade stakes, project specifications, and supervisor instructions.
• Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure proper operation.
• Perform routine maintenance, including checking fluid levels, greasing, and cleaning equipment.
• Coordinate with paving crews to maintain proper rolling patterns and compaction timing.
• Monitor mat temperature and adjust rolling procedures as needed.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
