Job summary

Atlas, a nationwide leader in civil engineering and environmental solutions, seeks an Electrical Engineer for Roadway Lighting to join the Chicago, IL A-Team. You will design lighting systems for expressways and local roadways, develop plans, and provide technical support to project teams.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of lighting design experience, with proficiency in AGi32, MicroStation, and NEC standards.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical/lighting engineering design.
• PE license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and inspections of electrical equipment.
• Develop lighting designs for expressways and roadways.
• Create photometric calculations using AGi32.
• Assist with project scopes, budgets and schedules.
• Provide technical support to project teams.
• Stay current with roadway lighting advances and NEC/IES guidelines.
• Review existing AS BUILT lighting plans and respond to RFIs.
• Local travel ~5% of the time.
