Job summary

The Walsh Group, Ltd. is seeking a Roadway Foreman for the Transportation Division in Asheville, NC. The Roadway Foreman will supervise and coordinate roadway construction crews, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and to project specifications.

Responsibilities include planning daily activities, leading crews, reading plans, maintaining quality and safety, and mentoring staff. This role offers growth opportunities across our Building and Transportation divisions with formal safety

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 5+ years of roadway construction experience required.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or foreman experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of highway, roadway, paving, grading, drainage, curb, and concrete construction practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction schedules.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • May be required to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn.
  • Requires good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting for long periods.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

The Roadway Foreman 's primary function is to supervise and coordinate roadway construction crews, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications, schedules, and quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

RESPONSABILIDADES

CALIFICACIONES

Se prefiere diploma de escuela secundaria o equivalente.

Se requieren más de 5 años de experiencia en construcción vial.

Se prefieren más de 2 años de experiencia en supervisión o como capataz.

Amplio conocimiento de prácticas de construcción de autopistas, carreteras, pavimentación, nivelación, drenaje, bordillos y concreto.

Capacidad para leer e interpretar planos, especificaciones y cronogramas de construcción.

Sólidas habilidades de liderazgo, comunicación y organización.

Conocimientos prácticos de las regulaciones de OSHA y las prácticas de seguridad en la construcción.

Capacidad para trabajar en un entorno de ritmo acelerado y cumplir con los plazos.

Debe poder levantar hasta 50 libras.

Puede ser necesario trabajar en condiciones climáticas adversas.
