Job summary

Qualifications

Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a licensed engineer to join our well-established Raleigh based Transportation team as a Roadway Design Project Manager. This role will sit in our Raleigh, NC office and offers a lot of flexibility and an opportunity for a hybrid work schedule with a caring and supportive team that believes in work-life balance. This is a great opportunity for a motivated project engineer or project manager to quickly step up their career by serving as the right-hand for the local roadway design supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Serve as project manager on NCDOT and/or municipal transportation improvement projects
• Maintain budgets, scopes, and schedules
• Lead and perform roadway design tasks from preliminary to final design
• Develop and review plan sets, quantity estimates, and reports
• Lead proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates
• Perform QA/QC tasks
• Mentor project staff

A valid driver’s license and some travel will be required.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil engineering or similar discipline from an accredited four-year college
• A minimum of six years of relevant work experience
• A PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in North Carolina within six months of start date

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of NCDOT policies and procedures related to project delivery
• Project management experience including scheduling, establishing budgets, preparing invoices and client relations
• Broad knowledge of transportation engineering across multiple disciplines
• Experience with municipal transportation projects
• Corridor modeling and/or ORD modeling experience
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
