Job summary

DRMP seeks a Roadway Design Engineer (PE) to provide design and production support for roadway projects across Georgia, including GDOT and local municipalities.

The role offers a hybrid schedule and is located in Stockbridge, GA. You will lead design efforts, prepare documentation, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver quality plans and budgets on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 6–10 years of transportation roadway design experience.
• GDOT experience is preferred.
• Proficient in Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet client deadlines with urgency and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway design including horizontal and vertical alignments, 3D modeling, cross-sections, pavement design, and traffic control plans.
• Prepare project documentation such as Typical Section Packages, Pavement Design Package, Design Variations and Exceptions, and Quantity Reports.
• Collaborate with clients, sub-consultants, technical staff, and managers to deliver quality deliverables on schedule and budget.
• Direct and mentor less-experienced staff.
• Support business development and proposal pursuits.

Roadway Design Engineer - PE

Location: Stockbridge, GA

Description

As a Roadway Design Engineer, you will provide design and production support in the development of construction plans for roadway projects throughout Georgia for clients such as GDOT and local municipalities and counties.

This position is eligible for a sign-on-bonus! Work is flexible around hybrid schedule!

What you will lead:

• Perform engineering design including horizontal alignments, vertical alignments, 3D modeling and cross-sections, pavement design, and temporary traffic control plans, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Preparing of project documentation including Typical Section Packages, Pavement Design Package, Design Variations and Exceptions, Estimated Quantity Reports, and Project Meeting minutes.
• Collaborating with clients, sub-consultant partners, technical staff, and managers across multiple disciplines to develop quality deliverables within schedule and budgetary requirements.
• Directing and mentoring less-experienced support staff.
• Supporting business development efforts including proposal pursuit efforts.

What you bring:

• Bachelor of Science from an ABET-accredited university in Civil Engineering
• Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license
