Job summary

Egis is seeking a Roadway Design Engineer (EIT) in Kansas City, KS to contribute to transportation projects for DOT clients. The role requires a BSCE, 2+ years of roadway design experience, and the potential to obtain KS PE within six months of hire.

You will work with a team to prepare design documents, reports, and ensure project documentation is up to date. Experience with MicroStation and Open Roads, strong communication, and ability to support contract documents for KDOT/KTA are highly

Qualifications

• BSCE is required.
• PE required or ability to obtain a KS PE within 6 months of hire.
• 4+ years of demonstrated experience in roadway design and plan preparation on transportation projects for DOT or other municipal clients.
• KDOT experience is a plus.
• Experience in design software, MicroStation and Open Roads designer is a plus.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; technical writing ability a plus.
• Experience with highway geometrics, intersection design and layout, estimates and quantity development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Experienced in the design of roadways for DOT clients with oversight of analyses, calculations, and contract documents.
• Collaborate with a team of roadway engineers in pre-design and design stages and contract documents.
• Manage and maintain project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and scope.
