Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with some transportation design experience. Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
Must possess Fundamentals of Engineering (EI) certification or ability to obtain within six months.
0 - 4 years of transportation design experience.
Familiarity with NCDOT production procedures is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with Bentley's MicroStation and Open Roads Designer preferred.
Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
Perform engineering design including horizontal alignments, vertical alignments, 3D modeling, and cross-sections.
Preparing project documentation including Typical Section Packages, Design Variations and Exceptions.
Assist Project Managers and Senior Engineers with roadway design task production.
Conduct engineering investigations and planning work including collection and analysis of data.
Perform routine calculations and participate in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
