Job summary

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) seeks an on-site Construction Inspector to verify contractor work conforms to plans, specs, RFIs, and approved changes. You will prepare daily reports, coordinate tests, and assist with pre-construction photography and close-out activities.

The role requires reading plans, strong documentation skills, and experience with large public works. OSHA 10 and CPR are preferred, with ICBO certification advantageous.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of CSI divisions and ability to read plans and specs.
• Experience with large public works projects and multi-disciplinary coordination.
• Familiarity with documentation: reports, RFIs, submittals, and changes.

Responsibilities

• Inspect Contractor's work for conformance with contract plans and specs.
• Issue non-compliance reports and follow up until corrected or accepted.
• Assist with pre-construction photos, investigations, and changes.
• Coordinate permits with Owner, Engineer and Contractor.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and photos.
• Monitor progress and document schedule slippage in daily reports.
• Document bid quantities and assist with final reconciliation.
• Attend progress and coordination meetings and witness tests.
• Review pay applications and as-built drawings as work progresses.
• Assist with testing, startup, commissioning, and project close-out.
