Job summary

ICE seeks a CEI Technician to monitor paving, concrete, and earthwork, ensuring compliance with client specs. The role involves field inspection, sampling, and daily note-taking for CEI documentation on DOT projects.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in highway construction, engineering coursework, and DOT QC inspection certifications. Travel to various sites is expected as needed; the position is full-time and onsite.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required; technical college coursework in engineering preferred.
• 2+ years of highway construction or asphalt roadway experience.
• Experience in DOT QC/inspection work is required with current certifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure materials, procedures, and safety rules comply with latest NCDOT standards.
• Sample and test construction materials to meet project specs.
• Material sampling of concrete, asphalt, and aggregates.
• Record daily construction inspection notes for CEI documentation.
• Interact effectively with colleagues and client representatives.
• Attend meetings and engage with clients and third-party personnel.
• Use diplomacy in difficult and stressful situations.
