Job summary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Whitsett, NC is seeking a Roadside Technician to dispatch to customer locations to repair or change tires on semi-truck fleets. This role includes on-call rotations with after-hours premium pay, and training is provided for essential skills.

You may also support shop duties when no service calls are pending. Basic requirements include a valid driver's license, being at least 21, and legal work status in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and meet commercial driver qualification requirements.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Servicing Commercial Tires including dismounting, mounting, and repairing any type of tire.
• Perform match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout as necessary.
• Inflating of tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements.
• Complying with OSHA regulations and safety requirements including; how wear proper PPE, use tire cages, and follow all other safety policies and procedures.

Starting pay for the market: $17 - $23 Hourly

The role of the Roadside Technician position in our company can be broken down into one sentence: "An emergency response tire technician for semi-truck fleets". To elaborate a bit further; when a customer has a tire related failure, a Technician is dispatched to the customer's location to repair or change the tire. This means that a Technician is expected to roadside when performing their job duties. During times when there are no service calls pending, Technicians will be expected to help mount orders, clean and organize the shop, and other general duties as needed.

Experience isn't required for this position. You will be trained in any skills required

Shift Information: This position includes participation in a mandatory on-call rotation. During an assigned on-call period, Technicians are expected to respond to after-hours service requests- including evenings and weekends with a high rate of acceptance. All after-hours service calls are compensated at a premium pay rate with guaranteed minimums.
