Job summary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Irwin, PA is seeking a Roadside Technician to provide emergency tire service for semi-truck fleets. You will be dispatched roadside to repair or change tires and may assist in shop duties when no calls are pending.

Starting pay is $24 per hour (training provided) with $27/hour for experienced technicians, plus an after-hours minimum per call and potential overtime. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance and more.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Valid driver's license; CDL eligibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Servicing commercial tires, including dismounting, mounting and repair.
• Perform match mounting, dual assemblies and radial runout checks.
• Inflate tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements.
• Follow OSHA regulations and safety policies; use PPE and tire cages.

Job description

Starting Pay $24 (Training Provided) - $27 Hourly (Experienced). Location: 7565 Route 30, Irwin PA. Rotating On Call 1-2 Nights During the Week & 1 Weekend per Month. Any Call After Hours Pays Double Time With a Two Hour Minimum ($96 - $108 Guaranteed Minimum Per Call). Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such-as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. Selected candidates may be eligible for a number of benefits, including: medical, prescription, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, tuition assistance, sick and vacation time, as well as tire discounts.

The role of the Roadside Technician position in our company can be broken down into one sentence: 'An emergency response tire technician for semi-truck fleets'. To elaborate a bit further; when a customer has a tire related failure, a Technician is dispatched to the customer’s location to repair or change the tire. This means that a Technician is expected to be roadside when performing their job duties. During times when there are no service calls pending, Technicians will be expected to help mount orders, clean and organize the shop, and other general duties as needed.

Experience isn't required for this position. You will be trained in any skills required.

Basic Requirements

• Valid driver's license and meet commercial driver qualification requirements
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future

• Previous Commercial Service Tire experience
