Roadside Technician – Commercial Tires – DeForest, WI

Location: 5912 Haase Road, DeForest, WI

Starting Pay Range: $24 hourly

The role of the Roadside Technician position in our company can be broken down into one sentence: “An emergency response tire technician for semi-truck fleets.” When a customer has a tire-related failure, a Technician is dispatched to the customer's location to repair or change the tire. This means that a Technician is expected to be roadside when performing their job duties. When there are no service calls, Technicians will be expected to help mount orders, clean and organize the shop, and perform other general duties as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site tire services for semi-truck fleets, including repair and changing tires on customer locations.
  • Respond to tire-related failures as part of an emergency roadside service.
  • Mount orders, keep the shop clean and organized, and perform other general duties as needed when not on service calls.
  • Maintain safety practices in accordance with OSHA regulations, wear PPE, use tire cages, and follow all safety policies and procedures.
What you will learn / Skills
  • Servicing commercial tires, including dismounting, mounting, and repairing any type of tire
  • Perform match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout checks
  • Inflate tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements
  • Follow safety policies and maintain OSHA compliance
Shift Information

There is a mandatory on-call rotation. During on-call periods, you may perform after-hours service calls at a 95% acceptance rate. Time worked in after-hours service calls is paid at double-time with a minimum of 2 hours per call. Example: if you accept, arrive, and complete a call in 45 minutes, you will receive an additional 1 hour 15 minutes of double-time pay.

Basic Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and meet commercial driver qualification requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Previous Commercial Service Tire experience
