Job summary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is seeking a Roadside Technician to respond to tire failures for semi-truck fleets. You will be dispatched to customer locations to repair or change tires, with a focus on roadside service and heavy emphasis on on-site safety.

This role includes participation in a mandatory on-call rotation, after-hours service with premium pay, and a comprehensive benefits package. Ongoing training and career advancement opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and meet commercial driver qualification requirements.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous Commercial Service Tire experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Servicing Commercial Tires including dismounting, mounting, and repairing tires.
• Perform match mounting and related tire assembly tasks as needed.
• Inflating tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements.
• Complying with OSHA regulations and safety policies and procedures.

Job description

The starting pay for this position is $20.00/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on factors such-as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. Selected candidates may be eligible for a number of benefits, including: medical, prescription, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, tuition assistance, sick and vacation time, as well as tire discounts.

The role of the Roadside Technician position in our company can be broken down into one sentence: “An emergency response tire technician for semi-truck fleets”. To elaborate a bit further; when a customer has a tire related failure, a Technician is dispatched to the customer's location to repair or change the tire. This means that a Technician is expected to roadside when performing their job duties. During times when there are no service calls pending, Technicians will be expected to help mount orders, clean and organize the shop, and other general duties as needed.

Shift Information

This position includes participation in a mandatory on-call rotation. During an assigned on-call period, Technicians are expected to respond to after-hours service requests—including evenings and weekends, with a high rate of acceptance.

All after-hours service calls are compensated at a premium pay rate with guaranteed minimums.

• Perform match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout as necessary.
• Inflating of tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements.
