Job summary

AAA The Auto Club Group is seeking a Service Vehicle Operator for on-site work (GA). You will respond to roadside calls, provide services like tire changes and battery work, and tow vehicles when required.

The role blends hands-on problem solving with customer care, performed primarily on the road, following safety standards. The job requires a valid driver’s license, the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and the willingness to pass screenings and AAA training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid state driver’s license with minimal driving infractions/incidents.
• Must pass drug screening, MVR, criminal background check and DOT physical (pre-employment and ongoing).
• Strong customer service skills with professional communication.
• Ability to work independently in the field and make sound decisions.
• Comfortable using GPS, mobile technology, tablets, and electronic applications.
• Ability to lift and move items up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to read and interpret roadside service procedures and member benefits.
• Basic math and recordkeeping skills.
• Must successfully complete AAA training programs.
• Commitment to safety and teamwork.
• If employed in Illinois, possession of a valid Illinois C-NonCDL driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to roadside assistance requests from AAA members using a tow truck or service vehicle.
• Provide emergency roadside services including tire changes, fuel delivery, battery testing and installation, jump starts, lockout assistance, and minor mechanical adjustments.
• Safely tow disabled vehicles following established procedures and towing guidelines.
• Verify AAA membership and deliver outstanding customer service during every interaction.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections and report vehicle maintenance concerns.
• Maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
• Utilize tablets and electronic devices to manage calls and update service requests.
• Accurately document daily activities, service calls, vehicle logs, and receipts.
• Maintain DOT certification and an acceptable driving record.
• Achieve goals related to member satisfaction, safety, productivity, and battery services.
• Support community and AAA events as needed.

Preferred

• Prior experience providing roadsideassistanceservices such as battery testing, jump starts, lockoutassistance, fuel delivery, or tire changes.
• Previoustowtruck driving experience.
• Experience operating wheel-lift, flatbed, or dolly towing equipment.
• Commercial driving experience.
• Automotive knowledge or mechanical aptitude
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Work Environment:

This is a highly active, field-based position providing roadsideservicedirectly to AAA members. Employees spend up to 95% of their time outdoors and on the road, working in varying weather conditions and around traffic environments. Less than 5% of the role is performed in a traditional office setting. Safety is always the top priority, and team members areprovidedtraining and resources to perform their duties successfully.

Compensation & Benefits Overview:

ACGcomplies withall applicable state and local lawsregardingrequired benefits(including PTO, paid sick leave, etc.).

Compensation

• Hourly ratesstartingat $22.50 per hour
• Overtime opportunitiespaidat time-and-a-half.
• Shift differentials:5% premium for hours worked between 5:00 PM-11:00 PM/10% premium for hours worked between 11:00 PM-5:00 AM
• $1,000 Sign-On Bonus, paid in installments at 90 and180 daysof employment.**To qualify for the Sign-On Bonus, applicants must be new to ACG.Additionaldetails can be provided by our Recruiting Team at the time of application**
• $250 Quarterly Perfect Attendance Bonus.
