Job summary

The City of Mukilteo is seeking a dedicated maintenance worker to perform tasks across roads, storm sewer, and park systems. You will operate a range of heavy equipment, perform routine maintenance, and assist with traffic control during construction activities.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One or more years' experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the essential duties of the job.

Responsibilities

• Construct, repair and maintain the City's road and street system including asphalt paving, patching, striping, sign installation/replacement, mowing and related tasks.
• Maintain the City's storm sewer system including installing/cleaning storm sewer pipes and catch basins, mowing and ditch cleaning.
• Maintain the City's park system and facilities including mowing, irrigation, planting, facility cleaning and related tasks.
• Operate a variety of equipment such as sweepers, backhoes, dump trucks, street sweepers, loaders and graders to perform maintenance tasks.
• Perform daily maintenance of equipment, comply with safety policies, and respond to emergencies or public inquiries as needed.
