Job summary

EMERY SAPP & SONS seeks a safety‑focused Traveling CDL Tanker Driver to haul liquid asphalt and other liquids for regional projects. You will travel extensively, work with paving crews, and support roadway construction operations from the Muskogee, OK area with occasional long‑haul assignments across the United States.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement, a DOT medical card, and a Hazardous Materials endorsement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement (no restrictions preferred).
• DOT Medical Certification with Non-Excepted Interstate self-certification.
• Hazardous Materials endorsement on CDL is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience hauling liquids preferred.
• Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and best practices for liquid transport.
• Strong safety procedures knowledge for fuel and liquid hauling.
• Willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a tractor trailer tanker and minimize risk.
• Transport liquid asphalt, fuel, water, and other liquids per regulations.
• Load, unload, and handle liquid products using proper pumping equipment.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; keep truck/trailer safe and legal.
• Maintain accurate trip records incl. mileage, fuel, product volumes, and hours.
• Communicate with dispatchers and project managers to coordinate deliveries.
• Adhere to Emery Sapp & Sons safety policies and procedures.
• Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on truck/trailer.
• Assist with loading/unloading at job sites and facilities as needed.
• Occasional heavy lifting; work primarily in Muskogee, OK area with travel.
