Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Road Mechanic to join our field service team.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose faults, and repair equipment across various makes and models, often at remote job sites, prioritizing safety and uptime. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 3–5 years of diesel/heavy equipment experience, a valid driver's license (CDL may be required in some locations), and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training desired.
• 3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment strongly preferred.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; CDL may be required in some locations.

Job Description Summary

• Work with an incredible team of people in a safety-focused environment Sunbelt Rentals--the fastest growing rental business in North America--is seeking a Road Mechanic. This Road mechanic/technician role performs preventive maintenance, performs diagnostics and makes repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime. Our fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools and equipment. Our specialty lines locations may have a fleet of large-scale power-generators, pumps, HVAC systems and oil/gas related equipment. Education or experience that prepares you for success:
  • High school diploma or GED required, some trade school or equivalent training desired
  • 3-5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (21 years of age & CDL license may be required in some locations)
  Knowledge/Skills/Abilities you may rely on:
  • May need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
  • Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual (Spanish or Other) may be required based on location needs

Base Pay Range: $24.05 - 33.06
